Marl M. Cummings, III

President of Cummings & Associates, Inc., Marl Cummings III is a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama and a respected leader in the local real estate community. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration from the University of Alabama in 1976.

After beginning his career in the banking industry, Marl shifted his focus to real estate, where he has built a successful career spanning several decades. His expertise lies in strip center development, property management, and commercial lease brokerage.

Marl is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and a past president of the Mobile Commercial Exchange Club. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he is deeply committed to wildlife preservation and community engagement.

Outside the office, Marl is a proud husband, father, and grandfather who enjoys the outdoors and spending quality time with family and friends.

Marl M. Cummings, IV

Qualifying Broker at Cummings & Associates, Inc., Marl M. Cummings, IV is a third-generation real estate broker and a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Mississippi and began his real estate career in January 2002.

With a strong foundation in commercial leasing, sales, property management, marketing, and contract negotiations, Marl brings a comprehensive approach to every project. He has personally led the development and redevelopment of multiple retail properties throughout the greater Mobile area, combining vision with hands-on execution.

Marl is an active member of the Mobile Association of Realtors, the Alabama Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors, the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and the Mobile Commercial Exchange Club.

A dedicated community leader, he has served as President of the Lions Club of Mobile, President of the Lions USA Eyesight Research Foundation, Director of the Alabama Wildlife Federation, and Director of the Mobile County Wildlife Conservation Association.

Outside the office, Marl enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. He is an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting, fishing, and conservation.

Matthew R. Cummings is a seasoned real estate professional with over two decades of experience in the industry. A 1989 graduate of Spring Hill College, he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and has been a licensed Alabama real estate agent since 1995. He earned his Broker License in 2002.

Matthew specializes in property management, commercial sales, and tenant representation, bringing a client-focused, solutions-driven approach to every project. Known for his professionalism and deep knowledge of the Alabama real estate market, he has built lasting relationships through consistent performance and integrity.

Outside of work, Matthew is a dedicated husband and proud father who places high value on family. He enjoys spending meaningful time with his loved ones, whether it’s traveling or taking on new adventures together.

Jessica Powell

Jessica Powell joined Cummings & Associates, Inc. in February 2024 as our Leasing and Property Management Coordinator. With a strong foundation in both real estate and legal administration, she plays an essential role in overseeing leasing operations and supporting the day-to-day management of our commercial properties.

Prior to joining the team, Jessica built a strong foundation in office management, bookkeeping, and paralegal work, supporting the administrative, financial, and legal operations of multiple organizations. Her diverse experience allows her to navigate complex processes with confidence and efficiency.

A licensed real estate agent since 2018, Jessica brings industry insight, attention to detail, and a client-first mindset to every aspect of her work. Her combined experience in real estate and legal support makes her a key asset to the Cummings & Associates, Inc. team.

Outside of work, Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and son. She is active in her church and cherishes time with family and friends

KATHERINE SANDERS

Administrator and Marketing Coordinator

Katherine Sanders

Katherine Sanders is the Administrator and Marketing Coordinator at Cummings and Associates, Inc., where she manages daily operations and leads marketing initiatives that support the firm’s development and leasing efforts across the Alabama Gulf Coast.

A recent graduate of the University of South Alabama, Katherine earned a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in Data Analytics. During her time at South Alabama, she served as Social Director for Chi Omega, gaining valuable experience in event planning, coordination, and leadership. She also gained professional experience through internships with the University’s Alumni Relations and Development department and as Marketing and Catering Coordinator at Mama’s on Dauphin Street.

Katherine brings a strong combination of organization, creativity, communication, and a willingness to learn to her role at Cummings and Associates. Her background in marketing, event coordination, and customer service allows her to bring a fresh perspective while supporting the team and its clients.

Outside of work, Katherine enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring Mobile, and trying new recipes.
